Palazzo Versace

The Palazzo Versace hotel consists of luxury suites located in the Culture Village on Dubai Creek. The two hotel wings, Ala Destra and Ala Sinistra, offer 169 luxury suites with up to six bedrooms. The designer palace opened its doors in December 2015. Kardorff Engineers interpreted Italian flair with an artful facade lighting and excellent lighting technology. The atmospheric lighting design also shapes all areas of the hotel interior as well as the hotel’s gardens, pool and spa.

The spa and wellness facility extends the five-star Hotel Krallerhof in Leogang south of Salzburg. The central element of the design by Hadi Teherani Architects is a curved and staggered roof construction that blends gently into the landscape. An underground corridor with a spiral yard connects hotel and spa. The varied wellness offer is supplemented by a large swimming pool in a newly created natural lake. Large glass surfaces in the facade and a well thought-out network of paths allow the interior and exterior space to merge.

Our lighting design includes the entire new building indoors and outdoors, as well as the outdoor area of the existing hotel complex. The light creates a special atmosphere as well as orientation and perspectives in the building and in the nature. Subtle light accents emphasize the dynamics of the architecture and strengthen the connection between inside and outside at night.

    • DFB-Academy

      Project

The German Football Association (DFB) is Germany's largest athletic association. But it did not have a national training center. Which makes the DFB Academy a highly unique project–a new kind of space meant to bring together people of all ages and athletic abilities.
The architects use a large boulevard to connect the large complex of offices, playing fields, restaurants, fitness and hotel rooms.
The concept for the lighting design is based on the idea of an outside boulevard. The colors for the ceiling areas were chosen by us to be in two different blue tones without any lighting fixtures mounted in this "sky," the illumination of which is of central importance to create the illusion of light from above all the way down into the darkest areas.
The lighting on the city boulevard below it is animated and varied making the 230-meter-long route a diverting and entertaining one.
We designed a six-meter-high tree made of lights to serve as the central feature on the market square. It is constructed out of high jumping poles and consciously symbolizes a niche sport in the DFB.
